Does Nord Shipping own vessels or aircrafts?
No. Nord Shipping Company is a freight forwarder. We contract with carriers across all modes and manage the commercial and operational relationship on your behalf. This allows us to select the most appropriate carrier for each movement rather than directing cargo toward proprietary assets.
What is your minimum shipment size?
There is no formal minimum. Our services are structured for commercial importers, exporters, manufacturers, and traders with ongoing or recurring freight requirements. We are not structured for consumer or individual parcel shipments.
Is customs clearance handled in-house?
Yes. Our licensed customs brokers manage all filings internally. We do not subcontract customs work as standard practice. In markets requiring a locally licensed entity, we work through closely managed partner operations under our direct supervision and documentation protocols.
How do you handle shipment exceptions - delays, holds, or documentation issues?
We notify clients as soon as an exception is identified — alongside the steps being taken to resolve it. We do not wait for clients to enquire before disclosing a problem. Each exception is communicated with a recommended course of action presented simultaneously.
Can you handle both FCL and LCL shipments?
Yes. We manage both full container load (FCL) and less than container load (LCL) movements. For LCL, we operate consolidation services on key corridors allowing clients to access competitive ocean rates without committing to full container volumes.
Can you manage Letter of Credit documentation?
Yes. Our documentation team manages the full LC-compliant document set including bill of lading issuance, presentation deadlines, title requirements, and bank coordination to minimise the risk of discrepancies that delay payment..
